Relationship Testing for Immigration Cases
It is often necessary to have a genetic test for immigration purposes. The test may be a standard paternity test, a maternity test, or a test that will establish other familial relationships.
Sometimes, genetic testing for immigration is very straight forward. Other times, especially for siblings or aunts and uncles, the test can be very difficult. Most of the laboratories on the AABB list of accredited laboratories will not be able to handle the more difficult cases. They may also lack the experience with handling the clerical aspects of an immigration test.
PTC has staff members with years of experience dealing with Embassies for Immigration purposes. Some Embassies ask immigration clients to use PTC Laboratories because of our expertise in dealing with their cases.
The more genetic markers that a laboratory has available, the more likely it is that a laboratory will be able to complete a difficult relationship case. PTC has the most powerful array of markers available for DNA testing of any paternity laboratory in the US. Some laboratories issue inconclusive results for difficult Immigration cases then tell the client there will be additional charges so that they can send the test out for additional testing. PTC is the laboratory that performs the additional testing for several other laboratories.
When you order a test from PTC you will be informed of the guarantee for that test. No matter how much testing is necessary to complete the case, you will not be charged an additional fee.
Tell the truth about the relationship. If you are not truthful about the biological relationship then the laboratory is going to be able to tell that from the DNA. If you do not give the real biological relationship it will likely interfere with the ability of the person to immigrate to the US.
The way that a person was raised does not determine their biological relationship. You may consider the woman who raised you to be your mother. If she did not give birth to you, then she is not your biological mother. She may be a very close relative such as an aunt. She may have raised you since the day you were born, but she still is not your biological mother. For DNA testing, you must state the biological relationship.
This can be confusing for people. The language barrier probably contributes to the confusion. Please be sure to state the relationship that you were born into, not the relationship that you grew up with.
PTC will provide very quick and reliable genetic testing for immigration purposes. With our knowledgeable staff and extensive array of genetic markers, we provide the most reliable DNA testing available for immigration purposes.
